Hon. Dr. Joseph Ikpea Congratulates Senator Monday Okpebholo on Tribunal Victory, Calls for Unity in Edo State
Hon. Dr. Joseph Ikpea, a respected political leader and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Senator Monday Okpebholo on his well-deserved victory at the tribunal. He described the judgment as not only timely but also necessary in restoring faith in the judicial system and strengthening democracy in Edo State.
Hon. Ikpea emphasized that from the onset, it was evident that the opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had no substantial case. He commended the tribunal for its firm stance in delivering a verdict that aligns with the true will of the people.
"This judgment is a victory for democracy and the people of Edo State. The tribunal has once again reaffirmed that the judiciary remains the last hope for the common man. I sincerely appreciate the judges for upholding justice and ensuring that the mandate freely given to Senator Monday Okpebholo by the good people of Edo State was not stolen through baseless litigation," Hon. Ikpea stated.
Hon. Ikpea further stressed that this victory is not just for APC but for every citizen of Edo State who believes in progress, good governance, and accountability. He called on all stakeholders, including PDP’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo, and his supporters, to put politics aside and rally behind Senator Okpebholo in the collective task of moving Edo forward.
"Edo State belongs to all of us. The election is over, and governance should take center stage. I urge Asue Ighodalo and the entire PDP leadership to support Senator Monday Okpebholo in his vision to make Edo great again. Senator Okpebholo has a good heart and a clear agenda for development. His leadership is committed to ensuring that Edo State witnesses remarkable progress in infrastructure, economic growth, security, and human capital development," he added.
Hon. Ikpea reaffirmed his confidence in Senator Okpebholo’s leadership and urged Edo citizens to unite and work together for a better future. He assured the people that APC, under Senator Okpebholo’s leadership, is focused on delivering good governance that prioritizes the needs of the people.
As Edo State embarks on this new political journey, Hon. Ikpea called for peace, cooperation, and collective efforts in ensuring that the state reaches its full potential. He concluded by saying, "This is a moment for unity, not division. Let us support the government and contribute to making Edo the beacon of progress in Nigeria."
